I have served as a County Councillor for Hertfordshire County Council since June 2009 and prior to that, I was a Borough Councillor for Totteridge ward in the London Borough of Barnet. I am now the Hertsmere Borough Councillor for Aldenham West and I am the Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Culture & Health at Hertsmere Borough Council.

I currently sit on the Education, Libraries & Localism Cabinet Panel and the Public Heath, Prevention & Performance Cabinet Panel, and I chair the Highways Liaison meetings. Previously, I was a member of the Community Safety Cabinet Panel, Waste Management Cabinet Panel, and Overview & Scrutiny Committee. I also formerly held the post of Deputy Executive Member for Children's Services, as well as being a former Parish Councillor for Aldenham Parish Council.

I am a School Governor at Haberdashers’ Aske’s (independent senior school) and a Non-Executive Director of Elstree Film Studios. I sit on the Elstree Aerodrome Consultative Committee, the Arsenal Steering Group, the Bushey Museum Management Committee, Citizens Advice Bureau, Community Hertsmere, Hertsmere Community Transport and the Hertswood School Theatre Management Committee.

I joined the Conservative Party in 1988 and have been involved ever since. I am married to my husband, Michael, and we have three young children. My previous profession was in the media and advertising industry.
