Hertsmere’s acclaimed project to ensure needy children received a hot nutritious meal during the recent Christmas holidays has been hailed a great success. Even though Hertsmere was moved into Tier 4 just before Christmas, volunteers ensured that every home that needed one received a meal delivered to them.

Three hubs in Elstree & Borehamwood, Potters Bar and Bushey, received the freshly cooked meals from the GMSP and Akshaya Patra Foundations. Christmas gifts and holiday activity packs, kindly donated by local groups including Arsenal Football Club were also added for the children.

Some comments from families who received the meals:

“I’d like to thank everyone involved in making this happen”

“I must say this is a fabulous idea”

“God Bless you all at Hertsmere, thanks a million”
